July 21, 2011
Today we left Forsyth, MT around 9:00 a.m. after breakfast at the motel. Headed west on Hwy. 12. Drove through a lot of prairie grasslands. There was hardly any traffic. Stopped at a small town(looked like a ghost town) called Ingomar. Had lunch in Roundup. Stopped for ice cream in Harlowton.
When we got to Townsend, we looked for the red cliffs along the Missouri River as described by Meriwether Lewis in his journal, but we didn't have any luck. Took a short break at a local park, then headed for Helena and then Missoula.
We are camped at the Missoula KOA for the night.
